Satara
(Marathi:सातारा)the

located in the Satara District of
Maharashtra

The name is derived from the seven (sat) hills (tara) surrounding
the town. The town is 2320 ft. above sea-level, near the confluence
of the
Krishna River (Marathi:क्रूष्णा) and its tributary the
